Group Supervision

At Sheffield Trauma Therapy, we provide specialist psychological support for individuals experiencing the effects of trauma, loss, and adversity. With deep experience in working with complex trauma, dissociation, and attachment issues, our approach is warm, thoughtful, and tailored to your needs.

Trauma Therapy

We work with survivors of a wide range of traumas, including:

Childhood abuse and neglect, accidents and sudden loss, bereavement, domestic and sexual violence, and traumatic stress related to medical procedures or illness.

Each person's experience of trauma is unique, and we provide a safe, paced therapeutic space for processing and recovery.

We also offer

Attachment-Focused Therapy :
Many difficulties in adult life stem from early attachment disruptions. We offer therapy that gently explores these relational patterns, helping you develop greater self-understanding, resilience, and connection in your relationships.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) :
EMDR is a widely recognised and research-supported approach for treating PTSD and trauma. We integrate EMDR into your therapy where appropriate, always with care and collaboration.

Therapy for PTSD and Complex PTSD :
As a trauma centre, this is a core part of our work. We provide support for both single-incident PTSD and the more chronic, developmental symptoms associated with Complex PTSD. Therapy is adapted to meet you where you are and move at a sustainable pace.

Support for Dissociation
Dissociation can be a coping response to overwhelming events. We offer sensitive and informed work to help with grounding, internal communication, and integration, particularly for those with dissociative experiences or dissociative identity disorder (DID).

Lifespan Integration
Where helpful, we incorporate Lifespan Integration to support nervous system regulation and promote healing across the timeline of your life.

Professional Supervision and Support
We offer clinical and group supervision for therapists and professionals working in trauma-related fields. Supervision includes a focus on safety, attunement, and supporting reflective practice.

How We Work

Sessions are available both in-person (in Sheffield) and online. Therapy is usually weekly, exceptionally twice weekly or fortnightly, and we work with adults of all ages.

If you're not sure where to start, we offer a free telephone call to discuss things, and optionally an initial consultation to explore your needs and whether we are a good fit for working together.

QUOTES

“The purpose of human life is to serve,

and to show compassion and the will to help others.

Albert Schweitzer

Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.

Desmond Tutu

I am only one, but I am one.

I cannot do everything, but I can do something.

And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.
